A Peek Inside Our Braiins

“…Mentally and physically, he was spent at the end of each school day, and unfortunately there was little reprieve for him at home on days where there was schoolwork to be finished. 15 minutes worth of homework would languish into HOURS and the tears and the frustrations on both sides were routine and inescapable.”

From Stories (Our Story)

“…Often, you need to go beyond the clinical explanations and find the deeper personal stories to truly understand the diversity and real impact of this spectrum disorder on each individual.”

— From Dyspraxia (DCD)

“Mom, being dyspraxic feels like when everything you write or say is like verbal vomit that you have to clean up

From Kiid’s Brains (A Child’s Perspective)

“ I didn’t want an easy diagnosis. I wanted the correct one.”

— Braiins

  • Always seek help from a trained professional or medical expert for a diagnosis, treatment, and advice. Braiins is a blog and website created to share our familiy’s journey and to bring new perspective and deeper understanding to some lesser understood neurodivergent and neurobiological conditions. The content on this site and the community it seeks to build does not serve as professional care or act in place of medical help or guidance in any capacity. These are our personal stories, our experiences and our thoughts alone.

  • Braiins strives to give insights and a voice - big AND small - to raise awareness for Dyspraxia (DCD), Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Complex Motor Stereotypies (CMS) and Intense Imagery Movements (IIM).

Please help support us by sharing this project, this page, our videos, our stories, and our personal experiences, so that we can continue to share with you and bring more people together as an open community.

Braiins has been a solo project and a labour of love inspired by my son. It was created for the many parents, children, youths and others alike, who were in search of something different, to help settle their many unanswered questions, fears and concerns. We hope we offer you a little comfort, perhaps a little insight, some promise of hope and empowerment, and maybe even help give voice for those living in these neurodivergent worlds.
