Tug-tanic
Age: 8 years old
Pierce was having a hard time at school and this conversation stemmed from trying to problem solve how we better manage his stress and anxiety. From that conversation came this tug boat comparison.
He shared:
“So there’s this tug boat and it’s going along, and a rock appears. The tug boat has to make a decision whether or not to go this way or that way [like with all school and life decsions]. As the tug boat gets closer to the rock…the tug boat blows up!! The tug boat is my dyspraxic brain and stress. They like to blow things up A LOT!”
When I asked him what happened to Pierce and the “Pierce brain” when the tugboat exploded, he explained:
“I was close enough to jump on the rock - and tried to - but the rock was never really there in the first place, and I sink [with no boat and no rock to rescue me].”
